The Oscar race is officially underway.

Early this morning, Tiffany Haddish and Andy Serkis announced the nominees for the 90th annual Academy Awards.

The Shape of Water led the pack with 13 nominations, while Dunkirk scored eight and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri got seven.

One of this year’s most exciting races looks to the Best Director category, which includes Greta Gerwig for Lady Bird and Jordan Peele for Get Out. Both made their solo directorial debuts last year, and both represent a welcome change of pace for a category that’s been mostly white and male in the past. Peele and Gerwig will also be competing against each other in the Best Original Screenplay field.
