Bella Hadid Challenges Plastic Surgery Rumors: ‘We Can Do A Scan Of My Face, Darling!’

Apparently Bella Hadid has been getting hit with rumors about cosmetic surgery and lip fillers — something we’re sure all models have to battle at some point while their careers are on the rise.

Well, this particular “it girl” is sick of it.

In an InStyle profile out Thursday, she combated the rumors with a bold-faced challenge, saying:

“People think I got all this surgery or did this or that. And you know what? We can do a scan of my face, darling. I’m scared of putting fillers into my lips. I wouldn’t want to mess up my face.”

How’s that for confidence? (Not to mention a good idea for a reality show…) So how did these rumors get started anyway??

Thanks to her famous parents, Bella has been in the public eye since she was young — so we’re guessing a lot of the conspiracy theories about her evolving looks come from seeing photos of her during those awkward teen years (above, left).

She told the mag she was not considered anything close to a beauty queen back then:

“I had a small waist and big hips and was kind of chubby. I love them now, but I was always self-conscious of my hips—whereas my sister had a six-pack and was very athletic. And I thought I had such a weird face. I remember very distinctly getting bullied because of my features.”

Bella says she and fellow supermodel sis Gigi Hadid didn’t focus on beauty at all growing up — because they weren’t allowed to! She explained:

“I learned about beauty from my mom, though mostly in terms of skin care. She’s always said that good skin is so much more important than the stuff you put on top of it. My dad, meanwhile, never wanted us to wear makeup, so we didn’t. I rode horses, and my sister played volleyball. In my family, it wasn’t about how you looked; it was about how you competed.”

When did she get her makeup game so strong?

“In terms of makeup, I really didn’t know how to do anything on my face until I started working with Dior and Peter Philips. I had no idea how to blend or how to do my brows. I look back like, ‘Wow girl, you’ve really learned.'”

We hope that answers all your Bella beauty questions!
